SoZo HAIR Salon Tips

Another great way to give your hair a break this fall, get a healthy hair cut!  Get those summer ends at least trimmed, a healthy cut of an inch or two will really liven up dull, heavy hair.  Most of the time an inch or two isn’t even missed, the hair just feels better and has much more life!  By at least trimming, the split ends won’t continue to split up the strand and hair will actually seem to grow better.  Hair seems to grow better because it won’t be breaking off.

Hair often won’t hold a style when in need of a trim, lifeless ends just have nothing to give.  They drag and weigh on the healthier hair above, let them go!  They aren’t pretty either.

It doesn’t matter what length the hair is, trimming is important.  Hair grows on average 1/2 inch a month, by trimming, even if you’re letting your hair grow, it keeps the hair healthier.  If growing, trim a 1/2 inch every 8-10 weeks, the hair is still getting longer, but it’s staying healthy.  It’s when the hair hasn’t been trimmed for months and months, it needs more than just a trim.

Protecting and sealing the cuticle in the future is very important.  Hot tools used without protection are very hard on the hair.  Quality products do make a difference, the products used at home, and the products/chemicals your stylist uses.  The manner in which the products and tools are used is also a factor.  Avoid over heating and over processing your hair.  It isn’t necessary to agonize over it, just use good habits and protection along with open communication with your stylist so you’re both on the same page with the future care of your hair.

Protect that cuticle and,
