Body Brushing For Younger Looking Skin

WOW, as time goes by so many things change!!  Though we get much wiser with age, the physical changes STINK! In an effort to look and feel younger we become much more willing to “work” at it later in life.  This is not all bad…. if we had listened to our elders years back we could have had a head start. Nevertheless, it’s not too late. If you’re like many women, once you catch the first glimpse of that crepey skin you’re on a mission! Well, add this to your regimen and enjoy the improvement!

Exfoliating the skin is so effective because getting rid of the dry outer layer of skin allows for regeneration of fresher, newer skin and stimulates new collagen production along with lymphatic stimulation to help eliminate toxins. Everyday brush your skin before, during or after your bath or shower. It doesn’t matter when or if brushing is done on wet or dry skin, find which works best for you. The beauty is that if you usually brush in the shower but forget, just grab the brush and use it after your shower.  Following with moisturizer is very important after exfoliation, massage that moisturizer in for better penetration than just rubbing it on. Start every morning by brushing your skin in an elongated up-ward motion toward the heart. Begin with your feet and work your way up your body. Really concentrate on brushing the lymphatic areas of your body (the back of your knees, your thighs and under your arms) to stimulate those glands and get them started on flushing out the toxins. Gently brush your stomach and tush, then brush from your fingertips up to your shoulders and your back. Make sure you cover your entire body, excluding your breasts and face, (use a facial brush for your face, it will have bristles that are a bit softer.) For those younger people reading this article….don’t wait, start now and you’ll be glad you did! Also, avoiding too much sun and certainly, sunburns, will keep your skin looking younger longer! Yes, yes, we were all told that and most of us didn’t listen.  For that one that might listen, here it is as a reminder. Though we all learn best from our own experience, listening to others experience can help to avoid some hard lessons.

Of course, there are more important things in life than how we look but why not look the best we can while figuring out and navigating this complex world of ours?
